The meeting of “Research and Development of Drug Varieties and Common Key Technologies for the Control of Drug-resistant Bacteria”lanuched

On October 22nd, 2020, the promotion meeting of “Research and Development of Drug Varieties and Common Key Technologies for the Control of Drug-resistant Bacteria” supported by National Science and Technology Major Project during the “13th Five-Year Plan” which was led by Professor Xuefu You from the Institute of Medical Biotechnology, CAMS&PUMC was held in Beijing. Mr. Jinhui Gu, Deputy Director-General of Department of Health Science, Technology and Education, National Health Commission, Mr. Zhongwei Zheng, Director of Development Center for Medical Science & Technology, Mr. Li Yan, Director of Division, Development Center for Medical Science & Technology, Prof. Jianwei Wang, Vice-president of CAMS&PUMC, Prof. Jiandong Jiang, Dean of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Lei Wu, Prof. Yongcheng Che, Prof. Zhuorong Li, Prof. Xuefu You who is the project leader and more than 100 staff members attended the meeting. Prof. Zhuorong Li presided at it. Mr. Jinhui Gu and Mr. Zhongwei Zheng have addressed.
They fully affirmed the contribution of the college in infectious disease diagnosis/treatment and drug research, and the outstanding performance in the fight against COVID-19. They have also highly praised the progress of the project, and urged all to manage and use the funds well, fulfill the goals of the project as soon as possible, break new ground for the antimicrobial research targeting the drug-resistant bacteria, and lay a good foundation for National Mega-project for Innovative Drugs of antimicrobial and Prevention and Treatment of Major Infectious Diseases in National Science and Technology Major Project during the "14th Five-Year Plan". Prof. Jianwei Wang showed support for the project on behalf of CAMS&PUMC. Prof. Jiandong Jiang and Yongsheng Che delivered speeches as representatives of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Institute of Medicinal Biotechnology, respectively. Prof. Xuefu You and the leaders of each sub-project reported progress of the project and use of the funding, Prof. Jiandong Jiang made comments. Training on the use and management of the fund was also conducted. “Seize the day, prepare to finish the project, and then plan for the future”. The meeting made a great start for the completion of this project and design of the antimicrobial research projects during the "14th Five-Year Plan".
